Fifty-second week + two days (December 23rd–31st)

[I usually just do a week, but I wanted to finish the year off and not connect it to the next year.]

December 23rd

Church today!
Today was my day to help in Children’s Church. We didn’t do a whole lot. We let the kids listen to a Christmas cd (Adventures in Odyssey). They also wrote their names on an ornament and then I wrote the name of the Christmas program on one side (What God Wants for Christmas).

After lunch I finished the presents I have been working on. I wrapped my presents while watching Christmas movies with my mom.

Here is the pattern and directions for the black bird and here is the pattern and directions for the pig.

The present I made for my oldest sister. It didn’t turn out exactly like I wanted it to.

December 24th

CHRISTmas Eve!

I had to run an errand for my oldest sister. My mom went with me and we got some ice cream (my dad wanted some) from a grocery store nearby. We came home and got all the food ready for our family Christmas celebration. My siblings, their kids (expect for my oldest nephew Sad smile), and one of my brother-in-laws will be here to celebrate CHRISTmas. It’s a tradition in our family to have snack items to eat before we open gifts. We eat, then my dad reads from The Bible (Matthew 2:1-12), then we open gifts in an orderly fashion .

DSCN2772 copy
The tree with gifts for everyone under it. Lots of gifts, enough for ten people.

My sister got my parents a Wii for Christmas. So my parents, brother, and I played it after everyone left. We were up until after midnight playing it.

December 25th

Merry CHRISTmas, everyone!
DSCN2869 copy

Happy Birthday, Jesus!
[Ok. I’m not sure this is Jesus’ actual birth date, but this is the day Christians (and maybe a few others) choose to celebrate it.]

I got up around 10 am to talk to my oldest nephew on the phone Smile. I ate some cinnamon rolls and watched “Christmas Shoes” and “Christmas Blessing” with my mom. We (my parents, brother, and I) then opened our stockings and ate a light lunch. We played on the Wii some. I helped my mom make supper (my brother and I almost forgot to make desert- Jello No Bake Cheesecake and Peanut Butter thing). We ate supper, played on the Wii, then ate desert, then played on the Wii some more (bowling, frisbee dog, frisbee golf, golf and archery).

DSCN2854 copy
These were the items in my stocking (a puzzle, a cherry candy cane, earrings, butterscotch candies, and strawberry candies).

December 26th

My Great Aunt’s funeral was today. My brother stayed here with my middle three nephews so that I could go with my parents. The church had a dinner for the family and we stayed for it. It was nice to see some extended family that I haven’t seen in awhile, too bad it was for a funeral. We came home and played Wii with the boys. My brother took the boys home and stayed the night with them. My parents and I played some Wii and had some supper. I watched “It’s A Wonderful Life” with my mom.

DSCN2884 copy
The sun trying to shine through the clouds. It was a gloomy day and it lightly snowed off and on all day.

December 27th

I slept for most of the day. I felt drained of all my energy (probably from playing too much Wii the past few days). I read my book most of the day.

DSCN2915 copy
My Angel Beanie Bear that my oldest nephew gave me for Christmas one year (not sure how long ago, at least six years ago).

December 28th

I played on the Wii today (tennis, basketball, archery, bowling, and skydiving). My next to the oldest nephew came over to spend the night tonight. After supper we all (my parents, brother, nephew, and I) played Wii. We watched the news, then my brother, nephew, and I played Wii some more (bowling, skydiving, and archery).

DSCN2936 copy
I found some Hazelnut spread at Aldi that is similar to Nutella. It tastes the same to me and it’s about half the price.

December 29th

I had to picked up my sister and take her to get fitted and get a CPAP (I think that’s what it’s called) machine. It helps her breathe through the night since she has sleep apnea. I brought the boys back home with me since it was going to take her awhile. I went and got her and we then had to go get a prescription filled for her youngest. We had to wait at Walgreens for it to be filled, so she got some other stuff and got me a three pack of mini twist bobby pins. She came back here and we all had lunch together. I then took her and the boys home and mom and I went shopping to get groceries and other stuff. My brother and I took back some items to the library. We came home and ate supper then played some on the Wii.

DSCN2946 copy
My dad has been saying for months that he saw a pink Beatle. No one was with him and he hadn’t seen it since. As my brother and I were coming home after returning items to the library, we saw this Beatle in a parking lot near the library. I took this picture to show my dad to see if it was the same car and he said it was.

December 30th

Church today!
Title of the message was, “Be An Influence”. Three components to being a godly influence in 2013 are; 1) A person of Influence is willing to Sacrifice (1 Thessalonians 2:1-2), 2) A person of Influence is willing to Please God (1 Thessalonians 2:3-4, Galatians 1:10), 3) A person of Influence is willing to Share Their Life (1 Thessalonians 2:6-8, 1:6, 2:10-12).

After supper my parents, brother, and I played the Wii some (this has become a new ritual for us).

DSCN2965 (2) copy
Me getting ready for church wearing my necklace and earrings (can’t really see) that my oldest sister gave me for my birthday (this was the first time I wore them).

December 31st

I watched my three middle nephews today. I went to the bank for my mom and it was snowing a bit. I really don’t like driving when it’s snowing or slick out. I did alright driving there and back. I played the Wii some with my nephews then watched my brother and nephews play. My next to the youngest wanted to play out in the snow, so I got all the snow gear out and all the boys ended up outside playing. I joined them for a little while. My brother-in-law got off work early, picked up my sister and then came and got the boys. My brother went to their house for New Year’s Eve. I stayed up with my mom to ring in the New Year (my dad was here, but he was in a different room).

DSCN3024 copy
A tree in one of my neighbors yard. Apparently they put some lights on the tree (that’s what the color dots are in this picture). I thought it looked so nice covered in snow.

Thank you to all who have read my blog throughout the year. Please join me on my new blog and see what 2013 looks like through my lens.

I thought I’d share with you the various cameras that I have used throughout the year to take the pictures I have shared on here. When I first started this blog a year ago I didn’t know that I would use different cameras to take pictures.

Kodak EasyShare C180 (teal)-this camera is the one that wouldn’t turn on for me over the summer (I bought it in October 2009).
Kodak EasyShare C813-this camera’s display screen went white on me in 2009. It still takes pictures, but I can’t see what I’m taking pictures of until I upload them to my computer (I bought it in December 2007, so the warranty had expired). I used it a couple of times this past year to see if it still worked.
Kodak EasyShare C1550 (blue)-this is the camera that a friend of mine loaned me for about two months when my C180 (teal) wouldn’t turn on.
Kodak EasyShare CX6200-this was my first digital camera I ever bought (I bought it in 2003). It still works, but I need to tape or rubber band the battery door shut (one of the hinges broke). I used it this year after my friend needed her camera back and before I got my new one.
Nikon Coolpix L26 (red)-this is the new camera that my parents bought for me as an early birthday present in August.

Fifty-first Week (December 16th–22nd)

December 16th

Church today!
The kids performed their program today. They didn’t have any lines, they just represented the characters in the Christmas story. The congregation sang Christmas Hymns (carols) between each scene. The kids did really well. [I would post a picture of all the kids on stage, but I’m not sure how some of the parents feel about having their kids on a public website like this one.]

DSCN2623 copy
This is the head cleaner for my VCR. I wanted to watch a movie I had taped a long time ago, but couldn’t because the the VCR ‘heads’ needed cleaning.

December 17th

I addressed and mailed some Christmas cards today. I didn’t have enough stamps to send them all. My brother, mom, and I went to Meijer to get a few things and we got some more stamps (so I could mail the rest of the cards).

DSCN2637 copy
Lights on a house in the town I live in. The circles are around wagon wheels. The wagon sits outside this house year round. One year the lights on the wheels blinked making it look like the wheels were moving.

December 18th

I went to my oldest sister’s work to drop off a present for my oldest nephew and his girlfriend. My sister is mailing it to them (along with all the other gifts we have for him) since he can’t make it home for Christmas (he lives several states away). I tried to figure out Christmas pop up cards and decided to do a simple tree punch out card instead (see tomorrow- Dec. 19th- for how the card turned out).

DSCN2639 copy
I was trying to get a picture of the sun, but I couldn’t see it too well on my display screen. So this is what I got. It still is a good picture.

December 19th

I finished the Christmas cards and mailed them (hopefully they get them before Christmas).

DSCN2647 copy
The front and inside of the mini cards I made before I added any writing. The cards are about 2 1/2 inches squared (when closed). Each one is a little different.

December 20th

It snowed today. not a whole lot, but enough to stick and cover some areas. I watched the boys (my middle three nephews) while my sister and brother went and got supper for my parents and I from McDonalds. I did a load of laundry. I also started knitting a stuff animal for one of my nephews, but will probably not finish it in time for Christmas.

DSCN2667 copy
Snow on the bush in the front yard. not a whole lot of snow, but enough to make the bush look pretty.

December 21st

I cleaned some in the dinning room (getting it ready for our Christmas celebration). I worked on presents for my parents. I made some spritz cookies using my Cookie Press that I got last year for Christmas. I dyed some of the dough red and some of it green to look festive. I decided to make two of my nephews pigs from Angry Birds. I made one today.

DSCN2701 copy
Some of the green and red cookies I made today.

December 22nd

My great Aunt passed away today. This lady was like a grandma to me. She has had health problems for well over a year now. She is now in Heaven with some of her brothers and sisters (one of them being my mother’s real mom whom I never got to meet).

I went Christmas shopping with my mom and brother today. I helped my brother pick out some things for our nephews. I worked some more on a present for my oldest sister and another pig.

DSCN2711 copy
I took a picture of the sun through the window of my brother’s car, so it capture all the dirt particles on the window.

Fiftieth Week (December 9th–15th)

December 9th

Church today!
I was asked to help get the kids ready for the program they are doing next week (I have to make sure that the kid playing Gabriel comes in and goes out when he is suppose to). My youngest nephew is playing Gabriel.

DSCN2378 copy
My name thing that my oldest sister bought me a long time ago. It sits on the shelves near by bed. This is a good verse (Psalm 28:7) for me to remember.

I started reading Plain Perfect by Beth Wiseman today.

December 10th

My next to the oldest nephew stayed home (well here) from school today because he was sick. He has pneumonia and got an inhaler and medication from the doctor (he went last night to the er). I watched some tv with my three middle nephews after the younger two got here after school. I worked on a Christmas present for my oldest nephew.

DSCN2387 copy
My brother with his White Sox Gnome. The Gnome was on the phone (not sure who he was talking to Smile).

December 11th

I worked on my oldest nephew’s present again today. I also worked on a present for my oldest sister. My brother, mom, and I went to the store then my brother and I had to go to our sister’s house to get some things from there.

DSCN2425 copy
Some of the lights in a park in the town I live in. Most of the park was covered in lights. We passed this park on our way back from the store.

December 12th

I did some laundry and between loads, I watched NCIS with my brother and read some in my book.

DSCN2436 copy
I was cleaning off a table in our dinning room and found these starbursts (they haven’t been there that long, maybe a few days). My mom said I could have them.

December 13th

I worked some more on Christmas gifts for my oldest nephew and oldest sister. I was able to finish the gift for my oldest nephew.

DSCN2556 copy
My ‘Hope’ (It has a few verses about hope on it) candle holder that my sister-in-law got me for Christmas one year. I haven’t burned any candles in it yet.

December 14th

I had to watch a tv show and not watch the news so much after hearing about what happened in Newtown, Connecticut. At first they were saying the age range was 5-10 and all I could think about was my nephews and kids I know that are in that age range. It made me so sad. My next to the youngest and middle nephews had an Art Show/Holiday Concert at night. My next to the youngest nephew sang with his class and a few others and my middle nephew had some art on display. I saw a friend and her grandson there that I haven’t seen in awhile.

DSCN2569 copy
My mom’s stocking.

DSCN2570 copy
My dad’s stocking. These stockings are old and are starting to fray in places. Maybe they need new ones.

December 15th

I went shopping with my Mom (we went to a few stores to get various things, mostly for Christmas). I got out the Christmas cards and singed ones for the people at church to hand out tomorrow. My next to the oldest nephew had spent the night last night. He wanted some rice crispy treats, so my mom and I (he helped some) made some.

DSCN2591 copy
These are the rice crispy treats that we made. My nephew wanted them to be red and green and put red food coloring in with the marshmallows (so we had pink marshmallows). I then added red and green food coloring to the cereal. After mixing it with the melted marshmallows, I decided to make it look a little festive and I added blue and yellow food coloring.

[I was hoping to have this posted on December 31st, but I was having computer problems.]

Forty-ninth Week (December 2nd–8th)

December 2nd

Church today!
Title of the message was, “The Sight of Christmas”. Sight 1: We See Angels Who Know Their Purpose (Luke 2:8-14), Sight 2: We See Shepherds Who Have a New Perspective (Luke 2:15-20), Sight 3: We See a Young Woman Who is Highly Favored (Luke 1:26-38), and Sight 4: We See People Who Are Filled With Hope (Genesis 17:7, Galatians 3:16, Psalm 132:11, Jeremiah 23:5-6, Acts 13:23, Romans 1:2-3).

After we ate lunch I borrowed my brother’s car so that my mom and I could go to the store.

DSCN2292 copy
The sun shinning through the clouds as we were going into the store.
[I used this picture as part of a present for my oldest nephew for Christmas.]

December 3rd

I did some laundry and hung it outside. It was near 70 degrees today (not typical for where I live). My next to the oldest nephew was here (he didn’t go to school since he was sick). I ended up going and getting the boys from school then picking up my sister from work (she got off around the same time that the boys got out of school). Workers comp was able to find my mom some work to do at the hospital (paperwork in the cafeteria office), so she went back to work today.

DSCN2315 copy
Nice sunset today.

December 4th

I didn’t do much today. I did make some cookies after supper. The surgeon called today and said my mom’s surgery on her shoulder is scheduled for February 12th.

DSCN2330 copy
The cookie dough. I mixed butterscotch, peanut butter, and chocolate chips together in the same batch. The cookies were good.

December 5th

I’m not feeling the best today. I did some laundry (wasn’t warm enough today to hang it up outside). Some guys came to install broadband internet in our house. We signed up for a few months ago and they came to install it today.

DSCN2340 copy
My brother’s White Sox Gnome “watching” over Mary (with baby Jesus), Joseph, and an Angel under the Christmas Tree.

I finished reading An Amish Christmas by Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, and Barbara Cameron (it was three stories in one book).

December 6th

I went and got my sister during her lunch hour so she could run some errands. She got me some lunch (a wrap from Wendy’s). I also had to take something to my brother-in-law at his work. I came home and did some laundry.

DSCN2345 copy

December 7th

My brother picked up the boys from school then came and got me and we all went to the library. My brother picked up our sister and went and got supper for my parents and me.

DSCN2361 copy
My middle and next to the youngest nephews playing with the trains at the library. At 12 and 10 they still love to play with Thomas the Tank Engine (and I love that about them).

December 8th

My mom, brother, and I went Christmas shopping for some things for my oldest nephew. My oldest sister is mailing him our presents since he isn’t able to come home (he lives far away). We came home and I did some laundry.

Forty-eighth Week (November 25th–December 1st)

November 25th

Church today!
Today was my day to help in Children’s Church.

DSCN2226 copy
The flower I knitted to go on the thing I’m making my oldest sister for Christmas.

November 26th

Mom  and I put up some decorations for Christmas. We also put up the Christmas tree. We decided to put some sidewalk lights up near the fence around the garden. We did this after the sun had set, so it was dark outside. While I was putting one in the ground, I saw some snow on the fence. It wasn’t a whole lot of snow, nothing to trace anyway. Since it was on the white fence I knew it wouldn’t be photographable. I connected some lighted candy canes we have out front to an extension cord and turned them on (along with the rest of the lights out front).

DSCN2231 copy
While my mom and I were outside, we saw this-a flower trying to grow.

DSCN2233 copy
This is what the house looks like with the lights on.

November 27th

I decorated the tree today and put up some more decorations. I also went with my mom, brother, and sister to Walmart to get my dad’s medicine and some other things we needed.

DSCN2252 copy
The Christmas tree all decorated.
[I took this picture today, so the ornaments I forgot (see below) aren’t on there. I have also moved some around since I took this picture.]

November 28th

Oops, I forgot a few ornaments for the tree yesterday, so I put them on today. I made some bows out of ribbon to put on the fence around the garden (the side that faces the street). [worked on a blog and published it, I’m so far behind on this. I’m still taking pictures everyday.]

DSCN2258 copy
This jar was almost full about a week ago. Someone (um, me) has eaten most of them.

November 29th

Not sure all that I did today. My sister and brother-in-law dropped the boys off so that we (my mom and I) could watch the boys while they went Christmas shopping. The boys ate supper with us, then my brother took them back to their house.

DSCN2260 copy
Nice sunset today.

November 30th

I did some laundry and hung it up outside. My brother got the boys from school and brought them here. My brother and I got the air conditioner out of the window in the hallway upstairs. [yeah, I know it’s kinda late to be taking it out.]

DSCN2266 copy
The sun is shinning today and it is nice out.

December 1st

I hung up some laundry outside this morning. That felt a little weird since it’s December 1st and it’s usually too cold to hang out clothes (it was in the 50s today). My brother was going to take my mom and me to the store, but he ended up helping a friend move. So, we ended up taking public transportation to a grocery store (we had to walk a few blocks to catch the bus). We first went to the hospital (since it’s nearby) to get some change (to pay the bus fare). We didn’t get a whole lot since we were walking and taking the bus.

DSCN2274 copy
I saw this in the hospital’s gift shop. It’s so pretty (and expensive).

Forty-seventh Week (November 18th–24th)

November 18th

Church today.

Title of the message was, “Living With Gratitude” and the text was Luke 17:11-19. Observation #1: An Attitude of Gratitude Puts Us in the Minority (Luke 17:15-18). Observation #2: An Attitude of Gratitude Is an Expression (not just an emotion) (Luke 17:15-16). Observation #3: An Attitude of Gratitude Opens the Door For Blessings (Luke 17:17-19). Here are three steps we can take to help us live with gratitude today and everyday; 1)Make a List (of the things your thankful for and the people you need to say thanks to), 2)Make an Effort, and 3)Make Some Noise (Psalm 100).

DSCN2161 copy
These are two dolls that I made a few years ago. They sit on a shelf in the hallway outside my room. Their little blankets are attached to them.

November 19th

I did some laundry and hung it up outside. My brother got my nephews from school and brought them here. They played outside while I raked some leaves and cleaned up the backyard some. I read some in my moms swing and then brought in the clothes. I also raked some leaves away from the fence around the garden in the front yard.

DSCN2167 copy
My Mexican Barbie that my oldest sister bought me one year for Christmas. She sits on a shelf with some other things so she doesn’t get messed up. I have never opened the box.

November 20th

I raked some leaves in the front yard because the lawn mowing guys were in the backyard (they were mowing over the leaves to mulch them). I deconstructed ‘Fred’ (ripped all the bags and dumped the leaves into a pile). I got the boys from school. Shortly after I got back with the boys, I helped my mom put some plastic candy canes on the fence around the garden (we only have five candy canes, so we put it on the side of the fence by the sidewalk the goes up to the house). I picked up my sister from work, took her to run an errand, then took her and the boys home.

DSCN2170 copy
I was bored while waiting for my nephews to get out of school. I looked through the side view mirror and decided to take a picture of what I saw in it (one of the playgrounds at the school).

November 21st

The boys are out of school for Thanksgiving break, so they are here for most of the day. I did a load of laundry and hung it up outside. My sister got off early and decided to buy lunch for everyone. I took my sister, the boys, and my brother to my sister’s house (my brother was helping her clean). I came back home took my mom to run an errand, then to Walmart. While at Walmart we ran into a neighbor that also works at the hospital (not in the same department as my mom). She asked us for a ride back home (she had a friend with her). We crammed her stuff, our stuff, and the four of us into the car and took her home. We then went and got my brother from my sister’s. I  also worked on something for my oldest sister for Christmas.

DSCN2180 copy
This was the sunset I saw as we were heading into Walmart. The picture is a little blurry since I was trying to hurry into the store (I didn’t want to stand in the parking lot, it was too busy).

November 22nd

Happy Thanksgiving!
I have so much to be thankful for [I’m not going to list them here].
I helped my mom put the turkey on (since she can’t do much because of her shoulder). I did a load of laundry and hung it up outside. I made a pumpkin cheesecake (that’s what my mom wanted). We (my parents, brother, and I) ate our Thanksgiving meal around 1:30 p.m.. I got the clothes off the line just before it started raining. I watched Walton’s Homecoming on t.v. with my mom.

DSCN2186 copy
The pumpkin cheesecake I made for Thanksgiving. It was yummy.

November 23rd

Mom wanted some things that were on sale on Menards, so we went there (we went around 10 am). Later we went to some other stores. I made some cookies from a Halloween cake mix we had.

DSCN2193 copy
The cookies I made using a cake mix. We also had the icing to go with the Halloween mix.

November 24th

I finished what I was working on for my oldest sister.  I hemmed some pants for a guy at church and also fixed some capris for his wife. My youngest nephew came over for a little bit while his parents went to a movie.

DSCN2206 copy

Forty-sixth Week (November 11th–17th)

November 11th

Happy Veterans Day! If you are reading this and have ever served in the military in some capacity, Thank you for your service.

Church today.
We had a student from a Nazarene College come and speak today. His three main points were; 1) Make the most of every opportunity (Colossians 4:5-6), 2) Live Obediently (Luke 3:21-22, 2:51), and 3) Love God for who He is (John 21:15-17).

After church we went bowling to celebrate my middle nephew’s birthday. That’s what he wanted to do. He wanted everyone to be there, but my oldest sister was sick, so her and my youngest nephew didn’t come. My oldest nephew lives in another state far away and wasn’t there. So, it was my sister, her husband, their boys (my middle nephew is their middle boy), my mother, my father, my brother, his wife, and me.

DSCN2080 copy
I think the bowling alley needs some new shoes. These are the ones that they gave me.

November 12th

I got my sister from work so that she could get me a present for my birthday. We went to the store she wanted to go to. The boys were misbehaving, so I told her to just get what she had in mind and she got me a picture frame that has six openings in it.

DSCN2100 copy
My middle nephew with Perry/Agent P that I made him for his birthday. He had already changed into his Agent P pajamas after school, so he matched his gift.

My mom was suppose to have a doctor’s appointment with the surgeon’s assistant about her shoulder, but he had a family emergency and rescheduled it for Friday.

November 13th

The boys weren’t here after school because my brother-in-law was off. I went to the store with my mom, brother, and next to the oldest nephew.

DSCN2105 copy
My poor toe. I had a blister, it popped and then another one developed and popped in the same spot.

November 14th

Happy 12th Birthday to my middle nephew!

My dad and I went to the library. We both wanted to pick up some items (me-some DVDs, him-some books). Later I did an errand for my oldest sister. My brother-in-law was off again today, so the boys weren’t here after school.

DSCN2111 copy
My Breast Cancer pen my mom got me for Christmas last year.

November 15th

Happy Birthday to me! I’m 35 today.

My mom was off today (she’s back to her normal schedule since she’s back in her department). We went to a resale shop to check it out (we had never been there before). It’s a reduce, reuse, recycle shop where people donate items for other to reuse somehow. We bought some old craft books there. I raked the leaves out of the driveway after we got home. My parents and I went to Steak-n-Shake for supper.

DSCN2128 copy
Some of the leaves that I raked out of the driveway. I was using the wagon to move them to the other side of the yard.

November 16th

My mom had her doctor’s appointment today. The surgeon’s assistant told her that she did have a tear in her shoulder and that she would need surgery. She wasn’t too happy with the occupational medicine doctor (look under November 7th to see what that doctor had told her). So, right now she can’t work until they find something for her to do that is light work. I organized some files on my computer. I also made a birthday card for my middle nephew.

DSCN2140 copy
A snow globe that my sister got me one year (either for my birthday or Christmas- I can’t remember which). It says, “Sisters are miracles sent from above to provide us with friendship laughter and love.”

November 17th

My brother came and got my mom and me so that we could go shopping. My next to the oldest nephew came with him (he was hanging out with my brother and wanted to come along). I found some black socks for my middle and next to the youngest nephews at Walmart (their feet are growing and they needed some new ones). After we came home, I made my middle nephew a pillow and blanket. He had picked out the material awhile ago (my sister bought it). I figured his birthday would be a good time to make them and give them to him.

DSCN2151 copy
One side of the pillow that I made my middle nephew.

DSCN2152 copy
The other side of the pillow that I made my middle nephew.
The material he had picked out had the Georgia state flag along with the USA flag on it. I made the blanket so that the Georgia state flag was along the bottom.

[I’m trying to get caught up with these blogs by the end of the year. Hopefully I can and still do all I want to for Christmas (making gifts for everyone).]

Forty-fifth Week (November 4th–10th)

November 4th

Church today.
The title of the message was, “Deep Clean” and the text was 1 John 1:8-2:2. Three Truths we need to know before we can go deep; 1)We need cleaning (1 John 1:8-10, Psalm 51:3-5, Romans 3:22-23), 2)Our Cleaning Options-We can ignore sin, we can obsess over sin, or we can confess sin (1 John 1:9), and 3)God’s Cleaning Steps: 1-God will forgive us (1 John 1:9) and 2- God will cleanse us (1 John 1:9). 1 John 2:1-2.

The clouds on the way to church this morning. FYI; I wasn’t driving, my dad was.

November 5th

After the boys got here I ran a quick errand for my oldest sister. The sky was pretty, but I forgot to put my camera back in my purse so no picture of it (bummer). My brother got my sister from work so that they could run an errand (the boys stayed with me). They came back and got the boys then my brother took them all home.

My Garfield that I have on one of my cat shelves. I can’t remember where I got this one at (I think a garage sale). I wanted it because it reminded me (and still does) of my paternal grandmother. She loved Garfield and had some figurines in her house.

[I took some pictures around 11 p.m. and saw that they had the 6th on them and then realized I had forgotten to change the time on my camera. Daylight Savings Time had ended on Sunday. I had to retake the pictures so that they had the correct day (and time).]

November 6th

Election day (here in the USA).
My dad was sick and my mom had a doctors appointment, so I took her. I did some laundry and hung it up outside. My brother, mom, and I went and voted (my dad was too sick to). We then went to a couple of stores to get some things and groceries. My sister called and needed someone to take her to get some medicine (her husband was sick and so was some of the boys). I ran her to where she needed to go and by the time I got home everyone had already eaten supper. I had to reheat my food (it was still good).
Obama got re-elected as president.

My sticker I got after I voted. This picture isn’t the best since I took the picture while I was wearing my coat.

I finished reading Between Sundays by Karen Kingsbury and started reading An Amish Christmas by Kathleen Fuller, Beth Wiseman, and Barbara Cameron (it’s three books in one).

November 7th

I can’t remember all that I did [I didn’t write down much where I have been keeping track.]. I did some laundry and probably read some in my book.

The doctor that my mom saw yesterday said that she didn’t need surgery on her shoulder. He said there wasn’t a tear just fluid there, so she could go back to her regular job [look for next week’s blog for an update on this]. She worked today where she has been working, but will go back to her normal job on Thursday.

One of the pistachios that I ate today. My sister was nice enough to buy my mom and me a bag of these.

November 8th

My next to the oldest was here during the day because he was sick. He spent most of the day just watching tv or a movie. Sometime before my other nephews (middle one and next to the youngest) got here after school, the cable went out and we decided to watch some Christmas movies. my dad got my sister from work and they came back here so that I could take her (my mom went with us) to get some supper. My next to the oldest nephew got sick shortly after eating supper.

I tried to do a cool zip-zag part in my hair, it didn’t work.

November 9th

My sister got off work so that she could take her oldest son (my next to the oldest nephew) to the doctor since he was still sick. I deleted some pictures off my memory card (to make room for new pictures). I took my mom to Walmart so that she could get some yarn (for a project she was working on) and to get some doughnuts for in the morning.

A mini Birthday Beanie Bear (I think from McDonalds) that is sitting with some of my stuffed animals on a shelf.

November 10th

Teen Bible Quizzing today. Not too far from the town I live in (around an hour). My next to the oldest nephew wanted to go with my brother and me. My mom also went. After we got back it was so nice outside that I decided to sit in my mom’s swing and read.

Forty-fourth Week (Oct. 28th–Nov. 3rd)

October 28th

Church today.
Title of the message was, “Deep Walk” and the text was 1 John 1:5-7. Three steps we must take if we want a deeper relationship with Jesus; 1) Walk in God’s light (1 John 1:5-7), 2) Walk like Jesus (1 John 1:5-7), and 3) Walk right (1 John 1:5-7).

My Halloween pretzels that my youngest nephew gave me (in a mini bag). These are also what I will be handing out on Halloween.

October 29th

My next to the oldest nephew stayed ‘home’ (my house) from school since he was sick. I did a load of laundry and hung it up outside (don’t know how much longer I can do that since it will be getting cold soon). Read some from Pollyanna Grows Up by Eleanor Porter. I took my sister and the boys home after she got off work so that I could run an errand for my oldest sister. I also worked on a birthday present for my middle nephew.

DSCN1937 copy
I thought this picture turned out nice. I was trying to take pictures of the moon and the tree branches were in the way. I like how this picture makes it look like the tree in holding the moon.

October 30th

I did another load of laundry today (yep, my life is that boring). Finished what I was working on for my middle nephew.

DSCN1951 copy
Agent P/Perry from Phineas and Ferb (on Disney Channel) that I crocheted for my middle nephew for his birthday. I didn’t make two, just took two pictures. One picture with his hat on (making him Agent P) and one without his hat (making him Perry the platypus). If you have no clue what I’m talking about, just google Phineas and Ferb and find out about the show.
I got the pattern from this website.

October 31st

I got the Halloween costumes out of the storage closet (I keep them here since there is room and so they don’t get destroyed) and had the boys pick out one [They ended up not going trick-or-treating because they said they were too tired]. My youngest nephew stopped by in his costume on his way out to go trick-or-treating. I handed out pretzel bags to the trick-or-treaters that came by (there were only a few this year).

DSCN1968 copy
This is our Halloween Scarecrow, I call him ‘Fred’. I’m not sure where the name came from, but it’s what we have called him for years.

My youngest four nephews in their Halloween costumes (I edited the pictures in Photoshop-so the costumes popped more- and put them together for one photo).

November 1st

I went with my dad (and sister) so that we could get my brother-in-law’s vehicle since we would need it later (my brother needed his car for an appointment he had). My sister had the day off work and I took her to Walmart and another store so she could get some groceries. We took them back to her place then went and got lunch (for her, our dad, our brother, and myself). We went back to my house so we all could eat. I watched my brother’s dog while he went to his appointment.

Beautiful sunset.

November 2nd

My brother brought his dog over again for me to watch while he took my sister to run some errands. When they were done I took my mom to the store. My brother and next to the oldest nephew stayed here and played on the Xbox Kinect (my nephew had brought his to my house). When my mom and I got back I played a few games of bowling with them. My dad ended up playing a couple of games with us.

DSCN1994 copy
Almost all the leaves have fallen out of this tree in my neighbor’s yard.

November 3rd

My Dad, brother, next to the oldest nephew (he stayed the night here), and I all got the air conditioner out of the window in the living room. [Yeah, it’s late to be getting it out, but my mom couldn’t do it since her shoulder is messed up. It’s big and someone needs to hold the window up-it won’t stay up-while at least two people pull the ac out of the window.] I helped my mom rearrange the living room (so that the heating vent would be uncovered). After supper, mom and I went to get some ice cream from a nearby store.

DSCN1998 copy
I cut myself somehow while getting the ac unit out of the window. It wasn’t bad, but it was bleeding so I put a band-aid on it (I didn’t take a picture of the cut).

Forty-third Week (Oct 21st–27th)

October 21st

Church today.
Today was my day to help in Children’s Church.

After church we (my parents, brother, and I) went to Tastee Freeze for lunch.

My Turtle Sundae from Tastee Freeze. It was yummy.

October 22nd

I got disconnected from the internet and reset our wireless router. It quit working after awhile and I tried to use an extra one that my brother had, at first I didn’t realize that it was a modem and wireless router in one. It never really worked, so I hooked up the old wireless router. I was able to get connected to the internet using a wire directly to my laptop from the modem. I took my sister and her boys (my three middle nephews) home and then mom and I went to the store.

DSCN1850 copy
Pretty colors on the trees near the store my mom and I went to.

October 23rd

I had more internet problems again today, but thankfully my brother fixed it [still on occasion we have to hit the reset button on the wireless router-Nov. 22nd. The wireless router is about five years old.]. I read outside some. I also started reading Pollyanna Grows Up by Eleanor Porter via my ereader.

DSCN1853 copy
Somehow I lost the battery cover to my remote control. Instead of getting a new remote control (it still worked so there was no real reason to get a new one) I put a piece of tape over the battery area. I put a small piece of paper over the battery so that the tape wouldn’t stick to the battery.

October 24th

My brother-in-law helped one of his friends mow some lawns (my brother-in-law was off today), so I ended up getting the boys from school and watching them until my sister got off work. I did some laundry, sat outside and read, and raked some leaves.

DSCN1881 copy
The lights on our ceiling fan in the dinning room. The people we rent from gave us this one a few months ago when our old one quit working.

October 25th

The boys got out of school early today. My dad and brother got them since they had to run some errands. My sister had another weird shift at work (off at noon then back at 5). My brother and Dad picked her up and then got some lunch for all of us (the boys, themselves, and me). While they were gone I raked leaves out of the driveway. After we ate lunch, I raked some leaves in the backyard while the boys played.

DSCN1894 copy
My next to the oldest nephew playing in the pile of leaves. Just moments before I took this picture he fell into the leaves sideways and was laying there laughing.

October 26th

My brother was off and he spent the day with the boys and me (the boys didn’t have school). We decided to go to the hospital (where my mom works) and have lunch with her. My brother and I took the boys to an indoor playground for them to play since it was wet and yucky outside. Then we went and got lunch for my brother-in-law and then got my sister from work (she got off early). My sister and brother went to run an errand while I stayed at my house with the boys. When they got back, we all played Wii Bowling (my nephews had brought over their Wii).

DSCN1913 copy
Nice sunset through the trees and clouds.

October 27th

I ran some errands with mom today. We ended up doing some errands for my sister. I hemmed some pants for an older guy from church. I had forgotten to get a card for our Pastor (we honoring him tomorrow for Pastor Appreciation month), so I looked on the internet for ideas for a card [I finally ended up making it and printing it off right before we left for church in the morning (Oct. 28th)].

[Happy Thanksgiving everyone (since I’m posting this on Thanksgiving). I hope everyone had a good day.]
