Forty-second week (October 14th–20th)

October 14th

Church today.
The title of today’s message was, “What If I Change My Financial Priorities” and the text was Philippians 4:10-19. Here are four priorities to help us live in financial peace; 1) Live Above The World’s Pressure (Philippians 4:10-12), 2) Live Attached to Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:13), 3) Live Aware of Other’s Needs (Philippians 4:14-17), and 4) Live Approved in God’s Heart (Philippians 4:18-19).

It looked alright outside so I decided to walk around the park after lunch. As I was walking near the boat house, it sprinkled some. I decided to take some pictures as I was crossing a bridge. It started raining harder as I got to the other side of the bridge. I decided to go wait under the overhang of the boat house (the boat house was locked). When it looked like it was letting up some, I went to a pavilion to wait some there. I walked to another pavilion and waited some there and then walked home. I only got a little wet.

DSCN1749 copy
The tree near where I stood under the overhang of the boat house. I’m not sure what kind of tree it is, but it’s leaves turn a nice red color.

October 15th

I did a load of laundry and hung it up outside. I raked the backyard up some. It seems like all the leaves from the nearby trees land in our yard and stay (we have a fenced in backyard so once the leaves are there, they stay). I made a pile big enough for the boys to play in after school, only my next to the youngest nephew played in it. After the boys went home, I got out the clothes so I could make our Halloween Scarecrow. My mom helped me stuff leaves into some plastic Walmart bags to stuff into the clothes for the scarecrow.

DSCN1777 copy
My next to the youngest nephew about to jump into the pile of leaves I raked up.

DSCN1796 copy
While looking out front for something I noticed this rose. This was a bush my sister had given to my mother and I think this was the first time it had bloomed since we replanted it.

October 16th

I did another load of laundry (probably hung it up outside). I decorated the windows for Halloween-put window clings on them. I also put caution tape around the fence and our Scarecrow. I got out a couple of puzzles that I have and got one put together (it was 100 pieces) and started the other one (500 pieces). I picked up my sister from work so that I could run an errand for my oldest sister.

DSCN1807 copy
Nice yellow tree at a house in my neighborhood.

October 17th

I wasn’t feeling that good all day long. My sister stayed home from work with a migraine, so I had the boys from the time they got out of school until after my brother-in-law got off work (about two more hours than normal). I went and got my brother-in-law from work and as we were headed to Walgreens (to pick up medicine for my sister) I switched places with my brother-in-law so that I could relax in the back (since I was still not feeling that well). After I ate some supper I started feeling a little better.

DSCN1813 copy
Tree [the one with the orangish leaves] that is in our side yard (this was taken while I was swinging in my mom’s swing-I had to turn around to take it since my mom’s swing faces the backyard).

October 18th

I went and did an errand for my oldest sister. I came back home and did some laundry (and hung it up outside). My brother came over and he went and got my sister from work and dropped her and the younger two boys at home. My mom and I went to my brother-in-law’s work to meet my brother and nephew (my brother was going to take us to the store, so we were leaving my brother-in-law his vehicle). As we were walking around the back of my brother-in-law’s work, my mom tripped over the sidewalk and ended up falling and scrapping her face (near her right eye). She also scratched her knee and knuckles. We went to the store and mom put some wet paper towels on her scratches. [She is fine now, they healed up pretty nice.]

DSCN1816 copy
Pretty tress I saw on my way home after running the errand for my sister. I stopped the vehicle so I could take this picture.

October 19th

My mom went to work and they saw her scratches on her face and hand and told her to go home and rest. I didn’t do a whole lot today. I did read some in my mom’s swing.

DSCN1819 copy
One of the silly squirrels that play around our yard. I think he was eating a nut while he was sitting there.

October 20th

There was a Making the Strides Breast Cancer walk at the park near my house. My sister’s work had a group sign up and my oldest sister, her husbands’ cousin, and I were able to join them. My oldest sister had to bring my youngest nephew and we pushed him in his stroller. It was a two lap walk around the park. My brother-in-law dropped my sister and I off there and my oldest sister took me back home (my sister and nephew walked back to my house). My brother gave me a micro sd card (an old one he wasn’t using) for my ereader. I was able to load some apps on it (kindle, Youversion, and some others). I was up late because one of my neighbors thought it would be fun to play thumping load music well into the night.

The right side of the start/finish line at the Making the Strides walk had the Breast Cancer ribbon on it.

Forty-first Week (October 7th–13th)

October 7th

Church today.
Today’s message was titled, “What If I Organized My Life?” and the text was Ephesians 5:15-16. First; The Problems of an Unorganized Life- 1)Wasted Time=Wasted Lives, 2) Wasted Time=Missed Opportunities, and 3)Wasted Time=Long Term Regrets. Second; The Results of an Organized Life- 1)Managed Time=Realized Potential (that God has for us) and 2)Managed Time=Reduced Stress. Third; Steps to an Organized Life- 1)Establish Daily Routines (Psalm 5:3), 2)Prioritize Our Activities (Psalm 90:12), and 3)Develop Productive Downtime.

My youngest nephew is spending the night since he doesn’t have school tomorrow.

DSCN1451 copy
We played a few games (“Cootie” and “Don’t Break The Ice”) before we went to bed. This is when we played “Don’t Break The Ice”.

October 8th

My youngest nephew and I played UNO (the regular version and Tippo), played with Moon Dough, played some games online, then went to the park. He wanted to meet my mom when she got off work, so we didn’t have much time at the park.

DSCN1504 copy
My youngest nephew at the park. He looks so cuddly in this hoodie (and in this picture). I love his smile.

DSCN1518 copy
I love all the different colors on the trees this time of year. I also like how the two trees in the foreground of this picture kind of frame the picture.

October 9th

I spent most of the day working on some pop-up birthday cards. One was for a boy I used to watch and the other was for his younger brother (whom I didn’t watch).

b-day cards
These are the pop-up birthday cards I made. The one on the left has a big cupcake that pops up. It has Thomas the Tank Engine on the cupcake liner. The one on the right has a three tiered birthday cake that pops up. There are angry birds on the right and the pigs on the left side of the cake.

October 10th

I did some laundry and hung it outside today. I’m not sure what else I did today.

DSCN1599 copy
The sun shinning over this tree and through the clouds.

I finished reading Oceans Apart by Karen Kingsbury and started reading Between Sundays also by Karen Kingsbury.

October 11th

The boys (my middle three nephews) had a half day of school they got out around 11 (am). My sister got off work at noon (she had to work a weird shift today-got off at noon and had to be back around 5 p.m.). I went and got her since I needed to run an errand for my mom. My sister also had to run an errand then wanted to stop and get some lunch. I had the boys until my brother-in-law got off of work.

DSCN1604 copy
This hangs from the rearview mirror in my brother-in-law’s vehicle. I took this picture while my sister was getting lunch.

October 12th

I did some laundry. I took my mom to run an errand then we went and got my brother-in-law from work. I dropped him off at his house and picked up my sister so that we (my mom, sister, and I) could go to the store.

DSCN1635 copy
I thought this tree looked pretty that I stopped the vehicle and took a picture. This was on my way to get my brother-in-law.

October 13th

I was going to do some laundry and hang it up outside, but it was rainy today. I did clean my room some.

DSCN1646 copy
My Orange Spice Cake candle that my former pastor’s wife got me one year for my birthday (he was my pastor when she gave me this candle). I burned it while I was cleaning my room.

Fortieth Week (September 30th – October 6th)

September 30th

Church today.
Today I help out in Children’s Church.

DSCN1381 copy
My vanilla candle in one of my favorite candle holders. I don’t burn candles very often. I think I did today because there was a weird smell in my room (probably coming through the window).

October 1st

I’m not sure what all I did today. I read some outside after the boys went home. Probably did some laundry (not sure, but almost everyday I do laundry).

DSCN1391 copy
On of the trees near my house. I thought it was odd that the bottom leaves were turning colors first.

October 2nd

I picked my sister up from work since my mom had to go to the store. My sister also needed to go to the store, so we all went. My sister also had to stop at another place. By the time I dropped her and the boys off it was close to when my brother-in-law got off of work. We (my mom and I) decided to waste some time by going into Big Lots to look around (it’s near where my sister lives).

DSCN1392 copy
I got these stickers today at Walmart. I’m either going to use them in a birthday card i’m making or just give them to the recipient to use however.

October 3rd

I’m not sure of what all I did today. My brother-in-law was off and he was nice enough to take me to do an errand.

DSCN1401 copy
The clouds were looking cool as my brother-in-law took me to run an errand.

October 4th

I sat outside some and read after the boys left. Mom and I went with my Dad to pick up my brother-in-law from work so that we could stop and get something for super.

DSCN1418 copy
The sun is trying to peak out through these clouds that I saw on the way to my brother-in-law’s work.

October 5th

I’m not sure what all I did today. I know I picked up my sister from work.

DSCN1427 copy
Very overcast clouds. These clouds seem to go on and on.

October 6th

The second meet for Teen Bible Quizzing was today. It was at a church father away than last month (around an hour and a half this time-last month was about an hour), so I had to get up earlier. I didn’t get much sleep and thankfully my brother drove (well he usually drives anyway since we take his car).

DSCN1433 copy
I got to see the sun rise today. I took this looking through the back window of my brother’s car.

[I didn’t mean for this post to have almost all sky pictures.]

[I had this mostly done, then I went to save it and my computer wouldn’t save (I don’t know why). I had saved this before and was able to open that. Now I have retype almost everything and post it later than I wanted to.]

Thirty-ninth Week (September 23rd–29th)

September 23rd

Church Today.
Today’s message was titled; “What If I Stop Worrying?”. The text was Matthew 6:25-34. First, The Problems of Worry-1.) Physical, 2) Spiritual, and 3) Relational (relationships). “Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows; it empties today of its strength.”-Corrie Ten boom. Second, The Benefits of Not Worrying- 1) We’ll learn to focus on What’s Important (Matthew 6:25) and 2) We’ll Recognize God’s Provisions (Matthew 6:26-30). The Steps to Not Worrying- 1) Check Our Priorities (Matthew 6:33), 2) Check Our Prayer Life (Philippians 4:6, 1 Peter 5:7), and 3) Check our Practices (Philippians 4:9).

DSCN1257 copy
Apparently the only pictures I took on this day were of myself right before leaving for church.

September 24th

I had to go and get my brother-in-law (my oldest sister’s husband) and take him to get their van. My sister had driven it to work and he needed it. Did some laundry and hung it up outside.

DSCN1266 copy
I found this leaf outside and the color made it look like it had been spray painted. I doubt this picture does the color justice.

September 25th

My brother-in-law was off, but went to help someone mow. It was close to the time he needed to go pick up his boys, so he came and got me so I could pick them up and watch them until he was either done or my sister got off work. Since I had the vehicle and mom needed to go to the store (my sister also needed to), we all went to the store after I got my sister from work. My brother-in-law then met us at his place while I was dropping my sister and the boys off.

DSCN1288 copy
This is what the sky looked like when I picked up my sister from her work.

DSCN1290 copy2
The Wienermobile was in town today and happen to be in the parking lot of the store we went to (I blackened out the license plates of the cars that were around it for privacy issues).

September 26th

For some silly reason my middle three nephews didn’t have school today, so they were at my house for most of the day. I let them play with play dough for a awhile so that I could clean up the craft room some. After supper I got out some fall flowers that we have and decorated a wreath we have on the wall. I also put some in a vase for the dinning room table.

DSCN1301 copy
The flowers I put in a vase for the dinning room table.

September 27th

I read some outside before my nephews got here after school. My mom and I went with my dad to get my brother-in-law from work so we could 1) get something for supper and 2) pick up my sister and go to Walmart (my brother-in-law was staying at their place with the boys). We had to stop at Walgreens after the store so my sister could pick up some medication for one of my nephews.

DSCN1314 copy
Nice sunset we saw when we got to Walmart. I kept seeing it while I was driving and waited until I parked to take this picture.

September 28th

I searched online how to make cards and found some really cool looking pop-up ones. Today I found some scrap heavy weight paper and made a couple. I wanted to practice before I made any to give to people. For some reasons [I forgot why] my Mom and I were the ones that went and got my brother-in-law from work.

DSCN1331 copy
The pretty sunset. I saw it on the way to get my brother-in-law and waited until I got to his work to take a picture.

September 29th

Lazy Saturday [I think, since I can’t remember all that I did today].

DSCN1347 copy
This is a light that is in my room. It’s actually the main light source. It doesn’t look very bright, but this is how the picture turned out when I zoomed in on the bulb.

Thirty-eighth Week (September 16th–22nd)

September 16th

Church today.

Title of today’s message was “What If I Control My Thoughts?”. Observation #1: Poor (unbiblical) Thinking Leads to Problems (1-Robs us of our faith, 2-Leads to inactivity, and 3- Causes isolation in relationships); Observation #2: Good (biblical) Thinking Leads to Blessings (1-We’ll be happier, 2- We’ll develop an accurate view of life, 3-We’ll become productive); Steps to Controlling My Thoughts- 1) Think on Purpose (2 Corinthians 10:5), 2) Think with a Filter (Philippians 4:8), and 3) Think Towards Change (Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:23, 1 Peter 1:13).

DSCN1184 copy
Don’t scratch your bug bites no matter how much they itch unless you want it to look like this. There were about four bites here on my (left) leg and I scratched it so much that it created this. I will probably have scars there.

September 17th

Not sure of what all I did, but I did make some Zucchini Bread for my brother-in-law (he was the one that gave me the Zucchini). Today is his birthday, so I thought it would be nice to give him some. I picked up my sister from work and took her (and the boys) home.

DSCN1188 copy
The Zucchini bread I made. I kept one loaf for my parents and myself and gave the other to my brother-in-law.

September 18th

Not sure all I did, probably sat outside and read after the boys left. I may have done some laundry. I do laundry almost everyday.

DSCN1191 copy
The sun trying to peek out from the clouds.

DSCN1192 copy
This may look like the sun setting, but it’s not really. It’s a reflection of the sun off the new addition to the hospital nearby (the new addition has glass on the side that faces my house).

September 19th

I made some Oatmeal Raisin bars. This time I added some more flour until it was the consistency that I liked. They turned out really well. I did some laundry. I also read  outside while sitting in my mom’s swing.

DSCN1219 copy
While I was reading in my mom’s swing, I saw a bird sitting on the side of a can we left outside and it had rain water in it (from rain we got a few days ago). Then the bird leaned down and got a drink of water. I was finally able to get this picture after the bird leaned over a few more times.

I finished reading Yuletide Homecoming by Carolyne Aarsen today. I’m going to the library tomorrow to pick up a couple of books I put on hold (books by Karen Kingsbury).

September 20th

Well I tried to go to the library, but I didn’t see the vehicle parked in a non-parking area across from my driveway. I was backing up out of my driveway (driving my brother-in-law’s vehicle) and I didn’t see the vehicle and hit it. I just left a dent near the front of the driver’s door. My dad ended up calling the police to come out and investigate (we didn’t know whose vehicle it was). Turned out the person was visiting in the house across the street. We both got tickets (mine for improper backing and the other for illegal parking). I ended up going to the library much later in the day (after the boys got out of school and before we had supper). After super I sat outside and read.

DSCN1234 copy
It looks like the bird wants to swing.
I saw this bird at first on the fence then on the teeter-tooter (if that’s what you call this thing on the swingset). It isn’t the best picture, but I wanted to get a picture before the bird flew away.

I started reading Oceans Apart by Karen Kingsbury

September 21st

I really can’t remember what I did today, it probably wasn’t much. I did go to the store.

DSCN1244 copy
The whole sky was cloudy except for a big circle almost in the middle of the sky. I tried to get a picture of the “hole” in the clouds while in the parking lot of the store we went to, but couldn’t since I was driving. While I was putting gas in my brother-in-law’s vehicle I was able to get this picture. The awning of the gas station hid the other half of the ‘hole’, but it’s still a pretty picture.

September 22nd

I dyed some white shirts a denim blue color. A couple of them had some small stains on them and I figured that if I dyed them a dark color the stains wouldn’t show. While soaking the clothes in the dye, I made some banana bread. I also did some laundry.

DSCN1255 copy
The Banana Bread I made. I kept one loaf for Mom, Dad, and myself. I split the other loaf between my two sisters.

[I was going to post this yesterday, but had trouble with the internet.-Oct. 23rd ~2:00 p.m. I hope it’s all fixed, now thanks to my brother.]

Thirty-seventh Week (September 9th -15th)

September 9th

Church today.
Today’s title of the message was, “What If I Forgive?”. First, We Need to Recognize the Need of Forgiveness. Second, The Results of Forgiveness-1) We’ll experience peace (Colossians 3:13 & 15), 2) We’ll be able to forgive ourselves, and 3) We’ll experience God’s continuing forgiveness (Luke 6:37 & Matthew 6:12). Third, How to practice Forgiveness-1) Forgive as God Forgave you (Ephesians 4:32 & Jeremiah 31:34) and 2) Forgive in Person (Matthew 18:15-17).

I went for a walk to the park (& even walked a trail in the woods) this afternoon.

DSCN1007 copy
This is actually a drainage ditch that is a part of the woods and runs along the park. I find it peaceful at this particular spot.

September 10th

Spent some of the day outside reading My Sister’s Keeper.

DSCN1045 copy
A squirrel’s nest in one of the trees in my backyard.

September 11th

If you’re not from the states (USA) you may not understand the significance of this day. Sometimes I can’t believe it’s been 11 years that four planes were hijacked and so many people lost theirs lives.

I finally got a chance to finish cleaning the pool the other day and it was dry enough today to put away.

DSCN1051 copy
Letting the air out of the pool so I could put it away. Goodbye hot summer days.

September 12th

I finished putting a second coat of paint on the fence today, then spent some time reading outside. I probably did some laundry also, but I’m not sure.

DSCN1061 copy
Part of the fence looking nice with it’s second coat of paint.

September 13th

My brother-in-law’s brakes weren’t working too well, so I didn’t drive it (my dad did to pick up the boys, but that was all). I needed to return some items to the library, so I walked there (about 15 minutes) and back.

DSCN1081 copy
The train tracks I had to cross to get to the library.

September 14th

Did some laundry and hung it up outside and later in the day (after the boys went home) I read some outside.

DSCN1113 copy
My next to the youngest nephew riding his oldest brother’s bike. This bike is a little big for him, but he did well riding it in the backyard. It took him awhile to get it fully under control (he had some trouble turning it).

DSCN1132 copy

I was messing with the settings of my camera while in my mom’s swing and managed to get this picture (and a few more like it). I think it’s cool.

I finished reading My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult. Now I have to put some more books on hold at the library.

September 15th

Mom and I went for a short walk through the park. I’m not sure what else I did today (probably read some).

DSCN1165 copy
Some of the leaves are already turning colors.

I looked at the books I owned to see if there were any that I hadn’t read or any I wanted to read until I could get to the library. I found Yuletide Homecoming by Carolyne Aarsen (a book I hadn’t read) and started reading it today.

Thirty-sixth Week (September 2nd–8th)

September 2nd

Church today.
Today was my day to help in Children’s Church.

DSCN0909 copy
The sky as seen in my backyard.

September 3rd

Happy Labor Day (a US holiday that celebrates the economic and social contributions of workers.-Wikipedia).

Cleaned out some of my computer’s hard drive and deleted some old pictures & videos off my memory cards (in order to make room for new ones).

DSCN0912 copy
The ugly pool. I had empty it out sometime last week (or over the weekend, I’m not sure which). Then it rained and this is what it looked like after all the rain. I need to clean it out and put it away.

September 4th

I don’t remember all that I did today. When my three middle nephews got here after school they played Big Trouble. Got a call from my mom. She needed someone to pick her up and take her to OCmed (sp?) because she had hurt her shoulder while working. She saw the doctor. He told her she couldn’t work and gave her a sling to keep her from moving her arm/shoulder. Read some outside while swinging in my mom’s swing (like a porch swing).

DSCN0917 copy
One of the Cubs bears we have in the house. Yes, we are Cubs fans.

September 5th

Took my older sister to her doctor’s appointment that was in a different place than what my dad thought. Mom and I stayed there and waited for her appointment to finish. We got something for lunch at McDonald’s then took my sister back to work. We had a little time before my nephews got out of school, so we stopped at Aldi and got a few things that we needed. We got the boys from school. My brother-in-law got off work early and he got my sister from work then came and got my Mom and I so we could go to the store (since we didn’t have time earlier).

DSCN0931 copy
The clouds as I saw them when we left the place where my sister had her doctor’s appointment.

September 6th

Took my mom to get some stamps and returned some things to the library. The boys (my older sister’s youngest two) got out early since one of them had a doctor’s appointment. My sister got off work so that she could go with him. My parents and I decided to go to Steak-N-Shake for dinner then go get my brother-in-law from work (we use his car to get the boys from school and take them places when they need to while he is working).

DSCN0937 copy
I tried the Smores shake at Steak-N-Shake and it was yummy.

I finished reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett and started reading My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult.

September 7th

Went and got some lunch for my older sister. I made some Oatmeal Butterscotch bars and they didn’t turn out that well. I followed the recipe, so I’m not sure what happened. I think there wasn’t enough flour in it.

DSCN0948 copy
The Oatmeal Butterscotch bars I made.

September 8th

Today was the start of Teen Bible Quizzing. For those of you that don’t know what that is-it’s like quiz bowl only about the Bible. The teens study a book (or books) of the Bible and are asked questions about what they studied. This year they are studying Matthew. I am one of the people that ask the questions. My brother is another person that ask questions. Today’s meet wasn’t that far from where we live (about an hour).

Thirty-fifth Week (August 26th–September 1st)

August 26th

Church today.
Title of today’s message was “Rubbing People the Right Way” and the text was Psalm 133:1 and Colossians 3:12-17. Four keys to Rubbing people the right way are; 1) Take the high road (Colossians 3:12-13), 2) Actions are more important than feelings (Colossians 3:12 & 14), 3) Pursue personal peace (Colossians 3:15, Isaiah 26:3, John 14:27, Philippians 4:7), and 4) Invite Christ into every conversation (Colossians 3:16-17).

After church we had a baptism/pot luck at a church member’s house. Their pool was used as a baptismal. After the baptism the kids decided to play in the pool. We had some lunch and fellowshipped with each other for awhile.

The clouds over us as the kids played in the pool. Not long after I took this picture (about 15-20 minutes) it started to rain, not too bad. By the time I got home it was raining harder.

August 27th

Not sure of what all I did today, probably some laundry and cleaning. I sat outside some and read The Help.
[I can’t remember if today was the day I cleaned the playroom.]

My Serenity Prayer cross with a small globe (with praying hands inside) attached to it. My sister and brother-in-law got this for me one year for my birthday.

August 28th

Another day in which I forgot what I did. I did spend some time outside reading my book.

Beautiful sunset. I am in awe of God’s handiwork, how beautiful he makes something as simple as a sunset.

August 29th

I worked on my present for my parents’ anniversary today. My mom saw this sign at Hobby Lobby (when we were there on the 17th) that she liked, but didn’t want to pay that much money for a sign. We figured I could make one cheaper and bought a piece of small unfinished wood. While working on the sign, I did some laundry. I spent some time reading outside. I have been trying to spend some time each day outside reading (in my mom’s swing) either during the day or early evening.

The sign I made for my parents for their anniversary. I finally got it finished. I was inspired by this blog. [That is a newspaper under the sign. I blurred it using Photoshop so that it was unreadable.]

August 30th

Went to the library to take back some books and got some Crock Pot cookbooks for my mom. My mom and I went with my dad to take my nephews (youngest three) and my sister home (using my brother-in-law’s vehicle). We then went to get some supper (I think from McDonald’s). We went to my brother-in-law’s work and waited for him to get off. As we were leaving the parking lot, we heard something. I realized it was the right side back tire. It was flat. We were able to pull back into the parking lot more and my brother-in-law changed the tire.

The moon. I was able to get a good picture of the moon. It took a few pictures to get this one.

August 31st

I finally transferred my daisy plant into the ground. It has been in a pot since I planted it as a seed (I’m not sure when I planted it). It has grown really tall. I have yet to have a bloom on it. I’m not sure how long it takes for it to bloom.

My daisy plant that I replanted. I put the carpet piece there hoping that it would help reduce the amount of wind the plant got. I also used the green spike to keep it stable since it’s so tall.

September 1st

I can’t remember all that I did today. I did spend some time outside reading.

[note to self; don’t ever think you’re going to remember things, write it down.]

Thirty-fourth Week (August 19th–25th)

August 19th

Church today.
Title of message was “A Gold Medal Life” and the text was 1 Corinthians 9:24-27. Here are four principles for a Gold Medal Life [it’s not about a gold medal for the Olympics]; 1) It takes Desire –I must want to ‘win’ (1 Corinthians 9:24-25), 2.) It takes Direction –I must focus on the goal (1 Corinthians 9:26 & Proverbs 17:24), 3.) It takes Discipline –I must work (1 Corinthians 9:25-26), and 4) It takes Determination –I must never give up (I Corinthians 9:27).

August 20th

My brother was with my brother-in-law and nephews and they wanted to go to a park with my youngest nephew and me. They picked us up and we went to one of the local parks. The boys played at the park and after awhile we all played hide-and-go-seek. After we were done playing we went and got my mom and all went to a yogurt place and got some yogurt. We even got some for my dad and brought it back for him.

I took my ereader with me to the yogurt place because they have wifi there. I went to connect to it and my ereader and got a white screen with lines on it then it turned off. when I got back to my house I plugged in the charger and found out I had no internal memory and my things I had stored there was gone. I am able to get on the internet through it but can’t download any books. There is some memory on the device itself that it used for operational (already installed) apps. [I have e-mailed the company and have not had a response yet as to what I can do. The only thing I can think of is to buy a micro sd card to store the books on.]

After we got back to my house my nephews and brother played twister for awhile. When my brother, brother-in-law, and nephews (except my youngest one) left my mom, youngest nephew, and I started painting my mom’s fence out front. My youngest nephew did an ok job at helping.

My mom is on vacation for the rest of the week.

August 21st

Played on my laptop with my youngest nephew for awhile. My other nephews wanted to play with my youngest nephew at a park, but we had to wait until my brother got off work so he could also go.
We went to a park and the boys played for a little bit, but then they were arguing with some girls there and no one was really wanted to compromise {do children even understand that word?}. We (my brother, brother-in-law, and I) decided to take them to another park. We stopped at a gas station along the way and got something to drink. When we got to the other park, we let them play in the sand (this park has sand) for a few minutes and then they all (everyone but me-my foot was hurting) played tag.

August 22nd

Since this would be the last day for a long while that my youngest nephew would be here, my mom and I thought it would be a good idea to do some fun things with him today. He goes to meet his kindergarten teacher tomorrow (with his parents) then friday is his first day of kindergarten. We also thought it would be nice to take him to the library to say goodbye to the librarians there (since he wouldn’t be back for Preschool Story Time). We took him to the library and thankfully his favorite librarian was there and he got to talk to her for awhile. As we were leaving the library my oldest sister (my youngest nephew’s mom) called and needed us to run an errand for her. We had to go to her work and pick up something that she had. As we were headed that way, my next to the oldest sister wanted us to get her some lunch (she had the day off). We ran the errand for my oldest sister, then went and got my other sister and got some lunch. We took her home then went back to the house. My youngest nephew and I played in the sprinkler after we were done eating lunch. [I didn’t get to do all that I wanted to do with my youngest nephew, but we had fun.]

I’m going to miss seeing this face almost everyday. I have been watching him since he was about 6 months old and now he is going off to kindergarten.

August 23rd

I slept in today and shortly after I woke up my oldest sister called me. They had already met my youngest nephew’s teacher and were planning on taking him to the Zoo and was wondering if I would like to go with them. They were going to a big zoo that’s a few hours away. I didn’t really have anything planed to do, so I went with them (my sister, her husband, and my youngest nephew). We drove for over an hour and stopped for some lunch, then went on to the zoo. By the time we got there we only had a little over 2 hours before it closed, so we didn’t have time to see the whole zoo (we did ride the train they had). We ended up getting back later than we wanted to. My brother-on-law dropped off my sister and nephew at their house before he took me home so that my nephew could get to bed and have a good night’s sleep before his first day of school.

August 24th

Took my older sister to Family Christian Stores so that she could preorder a Veggie Tale movie. Not sure what else I did, I did help my mom paint some more of the fence.

I started reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett.

August 25th

I borrowed my brother-in-law’s vehicle so that my net to the oldest nephew and I could go to a concert in a town about a half an hour from the town I live in. It was a free outdoor concert and we had to park a few blocks away and walk (while carrying chairs). It was a good concert. My brother, sister-in-law, and my sister-in-law’s mom joined us there. We walked around a bit before the concert started (there were lots of venders and some rides since it was a festival, not just a concert). After the concert my nephew wanted to play some games and took off. I walked around a bit with my brother, sister-in-law, and her mom then went and looked for my nephew. We both decided to get in line and get autographs from the band.

Today was my mom’s day back to work Sad smile, so she couldn’t go with us to the concert.

This is a sign that one of the vendors had. I didn’t know there were Strawberry, Orange, and Peach Shake Ups. I’ve only had a Lemon one. I didn’t have any extra money (plus I already had a drink), so I didn’t try any of these.
